One of my favorite music genres is metal, all of its sub-genres included (with the minor exception of black metal). Progressive rock is also a big love of mine, as well as psytrance, ambient and VGM.

A band that inspires me to the max, is Pennywise. They have songs that relate to me.

These are some songs that I like from them, that get me.

I was lucky enough to see them live in Vancouver, BC in 2014. It was the first time I ever traveled far away to a big city by myself, and it was the most amazing concert I had ever seen, and trust me, I've seen all sorts of low end concerts, and even big ones like Megadeth. I have never felt so accepted in any one place ever in my life. I even got Pennywise's logo tattooed on my leg. If Pennywise was a religion, you bet your ass I'd be a disciple.

An odd combination of two completely different genres - Uplifting and Progressive Trance and Pop Rock/Punk.

Rarely I listen to other electronic like Drum & Bass, Melodic Hardstyle, Dubstep, Ambient, etc. or metal like Metallica.

Favorite musicians of both:

Trance:

- Darren Porter
- Aurosonic
- Ferry Corsten
- Andy Blueman
- Above & Beyond

Pop Rock:

- Blink-182
- Simple Plan
- Good Charlotte
- Boys Like Girls
- Paramore

Some favorite songs:

Trance:

Pop Rock:

The entire album is good, but I'll pick this one:

Music composed by Hans Zimmer and James Horner (RIP)
The Prodigy
Massive Attack

Pendulum
My Dying Bride

music performed on the Wurlitzer theatrical pipe organ or its digital offshoots, especially that which utilizes the organ's "toy counter" sfx. other than that, most classical and much pre-electronic jazz, and showtunes, some old rock and roll. also music composed on various types of electronic synth, especially that created by the late isao tomita.

Pretty much punk (especially post-hardcore) and jazz (bebop/post-bop eras). I love the jangle pop genre. Growing up, I really liked early industrial music. There's some beautiful Chinese classical music, and the guqin really resonates with me.

Currently this guy's my favorite:

He's had two bands, 16 Horsepower and Wovenhand, both of which have put out a lot of great music.

The Wedding Present, Charles Mingus, Knapsack, and Jawbreaker are some other favorites. Lately I've been enjoying Touché Amoré a lot.

In general, older music. Anita Bryant, Al Jolson, Patsy Cline, Jim Nabors, Johnny Cash. etc I love Country Music period in the early 1990s. I love Classical music. Church and Christian music, (except CCM) I love Bach, Beethoven, etc. I also like outsider music: Daniel Johnston, Johnny Fritz, Jan Terri etc. I love yodeling music.

I am sad to see that very few people share my music tastes.

I like a lot of different music. My go to is metal: Testament, King Diamond, Sepultura (before Max Left), Slayer Before Lombardo left, although Balstaph is a great drummer), Thunderstorm, While Heaven Wept, Immortal, Suicidal Tendencies, Cynic, Sick of It All, Earth Crisis, Candlemass and Death.

Then there is the Rock stuff....RUSH, Van Halen, AC/DC, Heart, Yes, Joan Jett, Boston, Tesla, Motley Crue, Twisted Sister, Queensryche, Alice in Chains,

Then other stuff you will find me listening to on any given day...Beethoven, Smetana, Zac Brown Band, Hank Jr, Alabama, Mono, Fiona Apple, Tori Amos, Chick Corea, Yellowjackets, Incognito,

the list could go on for a while.....

Europop, 80s-90s club/disco/pop, many classic rock like queen, j-pop, k-pop but otherwise vast majority of music is video game tracks or licensed music featured in games.

What video game tracks do you like? I love the Devil May Cry soundtrack especially the Heavy Metal/Hard Rock remake that came out with DMC4 Special Edition.

I like:
Ellie Goulding: her voice and her songs are good to song with
Owl City: so much imagination and some odd lyrics, also some music without lyrics
I like some of the music from the
movie Gravity.
I don't always like to hear lyrics, just a piece of music that sounds Celtic or bluegrass is good.
