For the longest time, I had "How wonderful to be so profound..." as my signature here. I will likely change it back again when I tire of this current one.

I love the Peter Gabriel era, and his solo stuff. Ant Phillips's solo stuff is nice, too.

The first two Genesis albums without Peter were good. The first album without Steve was just okay. Duke had one good song and then they ran out of ideas =) Not sure that anything after that is really my cup of tea, but I may or may not pick up Abacab or Mama if I ever saw them somewhere cheap.

Abacab and Mama have some tracks that Gabriel-era fans will like. I'll link a few of them.

I've heard both albums before, I just didn't care for them. If I found them cheap, I would try to give them a second chance, but usually if an album just has one or two songs I like, I won't even bother with it.

That's a respectable opinion. I appear to be one of the few Genesis fans who like both Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins.

I do like Phil Collins, though! I like his voice, and he's one of my favorite drummers. I've always liked soft and sappy songs, so some of my favorites of his are More Fool Me, Your Own Special Way, Afterglow, and Entangled.

One of these days I need to check out his solo stuff (at least the first few albums), and I really liked what little I heard of Brand X.

I haven't heard much of his solo career. I've heard In The Air Tonight (Which is a GREAT song) and Sussudio (Which is a ripoff of Prince's 1999.)

Thank you for posting Fading Light and Domino. I like them, both. I did not realize this thread was still active, or would have returned, sooner. I think I took a short break, directly, after I initially posted here, and it slipped my mind. Nice to see the reception you've had.

Here's one for DeepHour to enjoy, upon his return...(as per his comment...)

I really like A Trick of The Tail. My personal favorite track is Ripples.

I bought Lamb on vinyl a while ago and still haven't listened to it yet  Ditto to PG3 (Scratch). I really ought to hook up my turntable, the last time I looked through my collection I was surprised by stuff I had forgotten I even bought.

I put Duke in again last night...it still hasn't really swayed me. What I really wanted to hear was a particular song of theirs about a snowman ;) We're definitely having the perfect weather for it.

Hi SabbraCadabra,

In regard to a song about a snowman, the song, 'Snowbound' makes reference to 'a snowman', and it is exquisite, although, you may know of it and perhaps, that was why you had posted a wink emoji. : ) I, only, recently, learned the meaning of the song, and sort of wish that I hadn't, as it is sad. The interpretation I had in my mind, was of a cheerful, wonderous, happy experience, of children playing in the snow. I find the composition, exceptionally, beautiful and moving.

I hope you've been listening to your LLDOB album since posting here, last night. It is exceptional, and one of my favorite albums of all time!

enjoy...
