The 1970s as well as the last half of the 1960s through the early 1980s certainly piques memories:
There's actually a Wikipedia (LINK) on 1970s (and many specific time periods) devoted to music.

Anybody remember Los Angeles music? One radio station (there were probably more stations) advertised that "not too hard, not too soft" music.
