Do you know of any other classic rock Aspies besides Elvis and Brian Wilson ?

Nobody else comes to mind. As Dr Asperger himself said, every true artist or scientist has at least a touch of Autism in him (see Tim Page's article about his own experience with Asperger's at www.newyorker.com I hope it's still up, the article ran in the magazine about 3 weeks ago) being a painter and sometime poet and essayist I think this is true, we share something with the most gifted and obsessed, whether they have the full syndrome or not. I think that is true.

I'm 54 and it seems a little unlikely, but Ive always wanted to have a band myself. I play harmonica and I can sing. Classic rock isn't dead either.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Roger Waters (of Pink Floyd) yet...

I mean, he did kind of hole himself up in his room while on tour and made a concept album about not being able to connect with people. That, and... well, listen to the song "If." It explains a lot of things.

Probably 1 or 2 out of the 10000000000000 mentioned here actually are autistic.

I love how being interested or gifted in something makes you an "aspie"

Found this on from a list of famous aspies enjoy.

Sir Elton John (gay popular music superstar, a piano prodigy, started playing piano at age 3, won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music at age 11, appears to have an intense, serious personality, known to have a bad temper, once displayed a savant-like ability to compose a song on demand on a British TV show, is believed to have epilepsy, which is associated with autism, has had problems with depression, alcohol and drugs, friend of eccentric superstar Michael Jackson, known to be a big earner and a big spender and a supporter of AIDS charities and gay rights, had a bad relationship with his father who was apparently distant and disapproving “…he was afraid even to eat crisps (potato chips) in his father’s presence for fear of being shouted at for chewing too loudly.” Did his father have autistic sensory hypersensitivity? Did Sir Elton inherit some degree of autism from his father?)
