Surely "Angels" by Robbie Williams...mediocre at best but people inexplicably squee when they hear it...

anything I've had to hear more than 12 times a day..;) ( Just like to hear different things constantly, maybe it's me...;)
Soulja Boy comes to mind
Right Now, he's - some country song. If I hear something too many times, I start making my own lyrics

Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.

The words are truly cringeworthy. The melody is a pompous dirge. Brian May's guitar sounds like a sick strangled cat. The acapella vocal section is like childrens TV character voices (anybody remember Pinky and Perky?). And it goes on and on and on and on and on and on....

The whole effect is like having a ten ton weight crushing down on you, whilst needles are stabbed repeatedly in your ears accompanied by an out of tune pub singer wailing "mammaaaaaaa oo oo oo ooooooooooooooo". This stuff causes nightmares and I'm starting to panic just thinking of the song :x

Unfortunately I can't continue elaborating on the inanity of the lyrics, as I really just don't want to think about this song any more. Ever.

Only the fact that music is subjective is keeping me restrained from writing a massive page long rant personalised to each one of you people :P

"Hips Don't Lie" by Shakira. I have no idea how that song ever got to be a hit. I read the lyrics online once, and they made no sense whatsoever. Just plain dumb.

I think the idea is that you're supposed to be mesmerized by her butt. 8O

I agree.

I guess when we're talking about overrated songs we mean songs that are critically acclaimed?
In which case - here's another one: Subterranean Homesick Blues by Bob Dylan.
