What Strange Book are You Reading?

Another great weird Carlton Mellick III book I read recently was "Ocean of Lard." (Well, okay, half of it was written by Kevin L. Donihe.)

It's a choose your own adventure book. Except for adults. You know those old Goosebumps choose your own adventure books where it would always have "THE END" in big bold letters because you'd make the wrong choice and end up chow for a purple alligator or something? Well, this is JUST like that, except the endings usually involve you getting raped by tentacles or pirates or pirates with tentacles. But it's just deserts because in the book, you play a child molester on the run from the cops. Seriously, the first line is: "You shouldn't have molested all those children."

I saw a book called, "Why Cats Paint." It was very cute. One of the cats was a Lynx point Siamese that looked a lot like my Prince.

Well, some people find it strange... I read through books of medieval and renaissance architecture for fun. Currently I'm reading something about Brunelleschi and his famous dome for the Florence Cathedral.

It's about sex magick, and occultism. Not weir by my standards, it's far more accurate and historical/scientific than 99% of occult books out there. But the sole subject of occultism and sexual magick might be considered weird by some

I have been fortunate to have two Lynx points. My first was a girl named Samantha. She lived to be 20. Now I have a boy, Prince. I love Lynx points, Siamese, and all striped kitties.

The New Crusades: Constructing The Muslim Enemy edited by Michael Sells and Emran Qureshi.

It's a book on Islam that's written for other scholars in that academic field and not for the layperson. It's not one of those books that you really read for pleasure, and I had to special-order it from Amazon because it's almost impossible to find in regular bookstores (except for possibly college bookstores).

I just finished Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M. Pirsig.

^Cool. I guess you can't tell me b/c then the story would be ruined.

I'm now reading Irish Fairy and Folktales by W. B. Yeats. Kind of hard to understand some of the spelling but very interesting book which many would probably find strange cause I've always been interested in the stories of nature spirits such as the fairies, trolls, witches and so on. This helps describe some of their origins. They remind me a lot of the belief Native Americans had concerning spirits coming from earth.
