what kind? alto, c-melody, tenor, baritone?

A Classical guitar

in theory those are easier to learn on because they use softer strings

what kind? soprano/alto/tenor?

I kinda want to get a banjo because they look neat, but considering I can't play any of the instruments I have, I probably ought to save my money.

i have faith in your facility for learning how to play all those things. if you think a regular banjo looks neat, you oughta get a load of what bela fleck does with his banjos.

Got some new equipment.

A Fender bass guitar hardshell case from '72 that is to be used only on special occasions.

And a wonderful new bow. This thing sounds amazing.

Two Mandolins which one either a poorly homemade mandolin or a 3rd rate bouzouki

Shaker
Cardboard boxes that I make samples from

Other
Guitar synth module
M-Audio Fast Track Ultra

Tascam four-track
Banjo I use to play Indian music on (don't ask)
E-bow

I'm probably forgetting a ton of other stuff. I just sold some of it off.

edit:
Amps
Behringer V-tone
Small Marshall combo amp
Fender Princeton 112

Mics
two AudioTechnica condensers
AudioTechnica dynamic mic that may be broken
Two mics taken off a Montgomery Ward stereo from the 60's

Regular pop filter
Several GB of VST plugins that I've been collecting since 2003.

I've not got a great amount, really:

-One Odyssey Bb clarinet
-A Yamaha descant recorder
-An electric guitar (I forget which brand)
-An electric violin (Technically belongs to my father, but he doesn't use it. Also forgot the brand)

Have also played the piano, saxophone & acoustic guitar, but all these instruments were on loan. :P

Everyone here seems to have a lot more than I do :D I love music, though, and will definitely be getting more over time.

-An old piano which still works very well in the living room.
-An acoustic guitar
-Electric guitar with a small amp

It's tempting to list everything...cappo, plectrums, tuner :P

Described earlier, but here you go if you are more visually-minded...

I generally prefer blues and greens. Is that odd? What isn't?
