Another Alanis fan! All riiiight! But gregorian chants kinda creep me out, unless they're woven into a Monty Python movie. ((it's not a religious aversion; it just sounds weird and kind of depressing.)) My mom used to listen to them a lot though.

10. Evanescense - Fallen

5/10 is stuff I agree is quite good (well, OK, eiffel 65 isn't "good" but it's weird and entertaining and that's close). Yay. I'm not alone.

Thanks. :D I'm not sure why exactly I put Eiffel 65 on the list. It was the first CD I ever bought, so I guess it has to be there by deafault. :? I hardly ever listen to it, I think I might change it to something else.

The ones I am talking about are not the religious hims but, popular music sung in the stile of gregorian chants not as depressing, very melodic and pretty amazing.

I'm always impressed when someone mentions NMA. I have been a fan since 1986, and being in the US. I rarely come across other NMA fans. I don't listen to them so much now, since Justin's solo album. A few years ago, I got pretty pissed off at Joolz on the NMA forum, and felt she was seriously disrespectful towards US fans by saying we weren't really part of the "Family" because most of us haven't been able to religiously attend NMA concerts and so forth.. Then I later pointed out to her her hypocrisy when she called for "US members of the Family" to support via email the NMA art exhibit they had a while back. I've just got to the point where the years of putting up with this band's weird, ambivalent "we hate you but we want you to love us" attitude towards the US have finally effected my enjoyment of their music. Oh well. They had been one of my favorite bands for about 15 years, and as a musician I'm indebted to them as a musical influence. But all the same, I just feel like saying nowadays, "Great band, but f*** 'em.'"

My favorite album by them is probably Ghost of Cain.
