Helloween. They've suffered and endured, and still they play great power metal that doesn't take itself remotely seriously. This is quite refreshing from the usual depressing and/or anti-religious metal themes. You actually feel good after listening to Helloween, and I can't say that about too many bands. It is said that they could have claimed the throne that Iron Maiden sits on when they formed so many years ago.

how is Weezer underrated? they are like one of the most mainstreamed bands of our time.

anyways...

Big Elf. HEAVILY underrated band. sort of a classic rock style sound to them. they sound amazing, yet it seems like almost no one knows who they are.

IMO, they are really nothing that special. i admit they have a nice simple sound to them. but Buddy Holly will still be their best song.

UFO & Helloween (good choice)

Also a lot of thrash people probably overlook Annihilator, Exodus & Suicidal Tendancies, which is a shame.
