What about those real-old westerns, where the good guy disposes of the bad guys, then rides home on his horse playing a guitar and singing?

I'm not one for musicals where characters constantly burst into song. I prefer the movies that are based around rock music, but not your typical musicals.

Examples would be "Rock and Rule," "Heavy Metal," and "Pink Floyd: The Wall."

I did like Sweeney Todd though, I guess that one counts as a "typical" musical.

btw I was in a production of We Will Rock You, and it was so incredibly fun to do. ;D

8O WTF?! I HATE YOU (no, not that way)! what production was it and who were you playing? you know, i auditioned for WWRY in Montreal and blew it because of my nerves. anyways, i've seen it in London & Toronto. love the show! love QUEEN!

Haha, well don't be too jealous, it was a local production, and I was just one of Khashoggi's goons, as well as part of the general ensemble, so my part pretty much consisted of shoving people around stage. I did get to hold Meat down while she was trying to save her boyfriend, that was fun. It was very well done though, (or I think it was) and it was kind of neat because we were one of the first groups to do the full show in America. I had some videos up of the production I was in, but I took them down cause it felt weird them just being up.

I can PM them to you if you want. ;]

In this case, "hate" should be interpreted "I'm so envious of you." :D

Yeah, I understood what she meant, no worries. :P

I'll HOPEFULLY be traveling to see We Will Rock You here in a few months. SQUEEEEEEEE!! !! !! !!

Anyway,

I do have a deep love for musicals. Among some of my favorites I've seen live are Wicked, RENT, Chicago, Phantom of the Opera... Beauty and the Beast on Broadway was INCREDIBLE.

You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown is another of my favorites.

I don't obsess over musicals the way I did when i was a kid, but part of me will always be a musical buff.
The first musical I memorised was Oklahoma....then I was insane over Annie for many years...then Sweeny Todd...and Cats....and Les Mis...and so on..It all plays into my lifelong major obsession with singing...

I wouldn't say I like musicals per se, but I liked Sweeney Todd.

I guess I like many musicals.

I've not seen too many on stage, but I've liked the amuture production of Joesph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat I saw and I also saw Avenue Q in the London West End which was brilliant.

Growing up I loved the film versions of Oliver! and Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (which was kind of a musical). Sweeny Tod is also great.

I can't wait to go see the new West End production of Oliver! too. It should be brilliant.

I like Wicked, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Gypsy, and Into The Woods.

To me, there's little, if any, difference between grand opera and the broadway musical.
