agreed, most of it is generic and uninspired, not only that they play it on the radio every 20 minutes and bash you over the head with it, on top of that, kids will either, download 1 song off I-tunes or rhapsody, steal it, or steal one song instead of buying the album.

I'm not sure how so many people can criticise pop music as a whole. It's a genre that's been around for a long time and much of it today is surprisingly original even though you'd think songwriters surely would have plumbed the depths of what can be done with the formula. I've heard plenty of non-pop musical arrangements that can be described as generic and uninspired. Pop music certainly doesn't have a monopoly on those qualities, neither is it homogenous as a genre.

Well, elements of pop music have crept into everything. Most of the things you hear on the radio, espeshally top 40 radio (which is probably what I refer to as pop music beyond a single genre) is very generic and dull.

I hate it!
whenever I'm trying to look for new bands I can never find any that agree to my tastes. I have some very sad favourites, but one thing I'm going to use as an example here is high school musical. I LOATHE it. Only word for it. But everytime I end up doing a music search I come up with the same bands time and time again. IT sucks!

I agree so much, my cousins are into that High School Musical, Disney, Hannah Montannah stuff. I cant stand it. They make kids think this is good music. In fact I talk about Hannah Montanna, High School Musical, and Disney, among many other things, in my blog, in my tagline. But I agree 100%
