Kamelot. Although, it could be debated whether they count as 'heavy' metal. They have a somewhat more distinct flavour to their music.

I've been using "metal" and "heavy metal" interchangeably, like some people use "rock" and "rock 'n' roll" interchangeably. But others named melodic metal and power metal bands, so I think they count in regard to this topic.

Then rammstein. Sonata arctica too, but they aren't exactly what you'd call heavy.

guns n roses, motley crue, korn, twisted sister and poison are also in my tops. I can't thing of a whole lot of others but buckcherry is pretty good as well

Metallica is my favorite, Megadeth a close second. I'm also a big fan of Avenged Sevenfold, Godsmack, and of course Iron F***ing Maiden!!

I'd also travel a long, long ways to see Manowar live. That would be a major life event.
