90% of the time, I'd say this is true.

His music is great. The thing is is that he's unfortunately probably the only reggae artist with good and interesting songwriting. And because of that, he gets played by most people. And when he's the only reggae artist that gets played, it becomes overplayed and oversaturared.

Madonna has some good songs, and the fact that she was able to have top 40 hits decades after the 80s is very appreciable.

Green Day is awesome, so what if they're "pop punk"?

I think there are a lot of reggae/dub/riddim/dancehall/ska artists with great music.

That it's all about the treble, about the treble, no bass. Probably due to hearing other people's unwanted music farting through the walls the whole time. It's a struggle finding headphones that don't give you that artifically pumped up bass sound. (Ironically, I've ended up playing bass guitar in a band.)

in terms of neutrality/transparency of sound, it is hard to be sennheiser hd-580 precision cans, I've used them for almost 2 decades now for my remastering work.

Get Sony's monitor headphones. Not sure of the model, but theyv'e been putting out basically the same pair for almost 20 years and they're great. Very, very neutral. And they are cheap in terms of good headphones. Beats, Bose and alot of the big money brands aren't worth the money to me.

I just don't get / like / appreciate the Rolling Stones ! ! !

Sure there's a couple of good songs around ... but they Do NOTHING for me at all .

I even tried to force myself to like them by downloading nearly 70 ( SEVENTY !) of their tracks and prayed them repeatedly . Nothing .

What songs have you heard and liked?

Of the top of my head , Tumbling Dice and the one about horses .. White Horses ?

"Wild Horses[couldnt drag me away]" Like the common expression.

The 1972 Stones song is not to be confused with the Eighties' club hit by Laid Back "White Horse"[if you wanna ride, ride the white pony don't ride the white horse] , or with the 21st Century techno song "White Horse" by Goldfrapp.

I'm not a big fan of hip hop either. Ironic, since I'm a fan of industrial music, which often relies on similar production techniques.
