You mean your browser doesn't give you the "save file as" option where it shows you the folder your saving it to, gives you the name that your putting it under, and it doesn't show you a running status bar of what % your saving? I could see that if your just left-clicking the links and trying to listen to them on Quicktime or whatever but that's about the only way it ever happens like that for me, IE and Mozilla both keep you well informed in terms of what's going on usually.
