The Nurture Assumption - why children turn out the way they do
written by Judith Rich Harris

the title says it all really. a really great book, which parents and everyone working with kids should read. the book entertains my interest in evolution and science. both my education and my daytime job is about kids, and this book makes much more sense than most of what i read during my education days.

The cheapest used copy of this book on Amazon Marketplace will cost you $99.99.

Luckily, the authors put it online, in its entirety, for free.

Now that's called doing people a solid.

Finally started with A Song of Ice and Fire: A Game of Thrones: The Wall: The Return of the Others: Throne Harder (it is a long title for a huge book).

I have a thing for vampires at the moment and having finished "My sister the vampire" (written for younger readers but OMG so awesome! I wish I had a sister like that!!), I am now reading the hilarious "Diary of a wimpy vampire" by Tim Collins. Once I've read that, I'll continue with the next three in the same series, Prince of dorkness, A Wimpy werewolf and A wimpy vampire strikes back.

Theodore Rex-- volume two of Edmund Morris' three volume biography of Teddy Roosevelt.

Quote:
Theodore Rex is the story—never fully told before—of Theodore Roosevelt’s two world-changing terms as President of the United States. A hundred years before the catastrophe of September 11, 2001, “TR” succeeded to power in the aftermath of an act of terrorism. Youngest of all our chief executives, he rallied a stricken nation with his superhuman energy, charm, and political skills. He proceeded to combat the problems of race and labor relations and trust control while making the Panama Canal possible and winning the Nobel Peace Prize. But his most historic achievement remains his creation of a national conservation policy, and his monument millions of acres of protected parks and forest. Theodore Rex ends with TR leaving office, still only fifty years old, his future reputation secure as one of our greatest presidents.

It is not an exciting read.
Finished a book a few weeks ago called Predictably Irrational by Dan Ariely. It was awesome!

I'm soon halfway through The Neverending story by Michael Ende. When I'm in the right mood I really love this story. This is probably the fourth time I read it although this time I listen to it.
