I just finished up Neal Stephenson's Anathem, which I rank as more brain bending than Cryptonomicon and more readable than Quicksilver, but not as entertaining as Snow Crash, but then again, few things are.

I read that recently. It seemed to me like the protagonist had TB, which explained his symptoms, and the reason why his family would freak out whenever he left his room.

I have only just started reading it and I am a slow reader so I am not going to comment on it just yet. But this short film may be of interest to you.

Harry Potter - late to the game. I could have sworn I tried to read this before and hated it, but I'm finding it's actually not bad writing and fun to read.
Amazon has a new subscription service btw, and all the Harry Potter books are free (Kindle).
THeir subscription service has a few new books, but overall it seems like they are basically doing what they did when they claimed the Kindle library had so many books (back when they were new before they cornered the market) - tons of the books they are offering are in the public domain already!
Scribd has a nice subscription service with a lot of books. Not as many nearly as you can buy on Amazon, but way more than you can get with Amazon's subscription (not counting public domain books). Scribd doesn't have Harry Potter though. They are both free to try out.

i've listened to his first, Killingfloor. and as it happens finished listening to his second, Die Trying, today! very fast paced .. not much content .. pure pageturner .. tho pretty entertaining.
