I was wondering about David Byrne - and did a search that lead me to another WrongPlanet discussion that confirms it. But he also says he "grew out of it".

He did not 'grow out of it', in fact it may seem to have gotten more severe.

Besides him there is:

Gary Numan ('here in my car')
Craig Nicholls (from the vines)
Ladyhawke (sang my delirium)
James Durbin (from american idol)
Travis Meeks (from days of the new)
Adam Young (the guy in owl city)
Marty Balin (from jefferson airplane)
Jon Jayne (from american idol)
Matt Savage (jazz prodigy)
Glenn Gould (pianist)

I would have to nominate Neil Peart, although it may merely be that he wants to maintain anonymity and would prefer not to have fans tracking his every move.

I vote Maynard James Keenan (Tool). He is so weird, doesn't like to give interviews, many peope see him as a senseless as*hole. Making music is one of his obsessions clearly, but also winemaking seems to be one. Also Adam Jones from Tool shows some signs in my opinion.

And I think Thom Yorke might be Aspie too.

Yesterday I was just thinking that maybe the guy from City and Colour and people from the band The Arcade Fire might have Asperger's.

John Lydon?! Really on what planet does John Lydon strike anyone as having Asperger's?! 8O I'm sorry if I'm being out of line here, but it just reminds me of people who think being rude or an as*hole= Asperger's. Hypothetically if this is the case than Liam Gallagher definitely has it. But but... I really wouldn't think either has it.

This is wild speculation, as I don't know that much intimate information about them, but:

Phil Shulmann, of Gentle Giant
Conlon Nancarrow?

Sometimes I wonder if other forums with other sorts of disabilities have these threads about famous people having various conditions. And then I think, 'If I were famous and I was just a mildly weird person and stumbled across websites speculating over my mentality, I might just feel a little offended.'

While I don't really have an opinion on what I've said above one way or the other, I assume that Thom Yorke has Asperger's. For one, he's kind of strange and has a hard time looking at interviewers, and for two, I love his music and the idea of a commonality is appealing.

^ Well, Manic Street Preachers fans think they 'feel what Richey felt', and have exactly the same kind of depression he has, which is why I don't go on their forums anymore.

I wonder if people who listen to music with happy lyrics assume that the artists and themselves are both enjoying the benefits of Prozac? Or if anyone relates in depth to The Wiggles?

"Did you see the way he wiggled and danced like a pirate to that audience of three-year-olds? That's my soouuuuul, maaan! That's my soul."

If one listens to Madchester bands, it's safe to assume they all took Extacy at their time of prime... XD

I'm a big fan too, and disagree about him being normal before the drugs. He was always very awkward and had many traits, and talked about exactly the kind of things aspies talk. He has talked about feeling miserable and alone etc. for a long time when young. To me, he's an aspie.

I wouldn't discard Jimi at all as having been an aspie.
