Amen, brother!! Well...for Joanna Newsom, that is. Zappa's cool too ;) I especially like the song you named your profile after!! :D The video's even better, it's so surreal!! As a person, performer, and songwriter Yoko rox mah sox, but idk if I'd call her a good vocalist. To each their own, though :)

Clearly you've got pretty good taste!! :D From your list, I especially like Annie Lennox, Tori Amos, Tracy Chapman, Stevie Nicks, Alanis Morissette, Bjork, Kate Bush, and Patti Smith. IMO, Sheryl Crow and Sarah McLachlan were good early on in their careers but somewhere down the line it seemed like they weren't as good as they were before. Just one question. WHERE THE HECK IS CHRISSIE HYNDE?!? She's an AWESOME vocalist!! ! ...Oh yes, and Joni Mitchell, too!! Where is she?!?

I like her music, too.

I thought her name was the other way around: Yuki Kajiura. I could be wrong, though.

I know she's a composer, but does she do vocals as well? I've got an album called "Fiction" by her, which my husband put on our computer. There are two songs called "Canta per Me", with two different vocals. I really like one of them, which is sung by a woman with a light, clear, classically trained kind of voice. The other one is sung by someone with more of a pop/light rock kind of style, almost like a Celine Dion kind of thing. I don't like that as much. I've always wondered if Yuki Kajiura sings the vocals on that first one herself, or if it's someone else. Do you know, by any chance?

I looked her up on the internet about a year ago, and got nothing except stuff written in Japanese, which I can't read.

I really like Corrinne Bailey Rae. But then I haven't got music by many other female singers.

Think I'd go with Christine Lorentzen, Kimberly Kornmeier... I don't really single out many female singers, I guess.
