Folk Metal is the best genre....

Actually I don't even really think that, just can't stop listening to it lately, but its probably an unpopular opinion.

Are you talking about folk metal on it's own or apart of genres such as black metal?

I guess both though initially I was thinking just regular folk metal but it's all good.

J.S. Bach wrote better music than all rock and metal bands combined!

System of a Down kick major ass and they need to release another album. Tool too. Hell, I think it would be really cool if they collaborated on a project.

Two excellent acts and the acceptable faces of modern music!

My nephew and I used to sing along with System in the car, especially 'Violent Pornography'.

Bach is seriously overrated, like most classical composers.

Isn't it usually pretentious entry level fans of classical music who make those sorts of comments?

The Mighty Five > the canon of western classical music.
But, Celtic Frost > Mussorgsky.
Therefore Tom G. Warrior is a much greater composer than Bach or Mozart.

I think Rush is awful, and I don't understand why people like them. lol Definitely not a popular opinion in Canada (or in most places it seems). I just really don't get it...

My heart is breaking :O XD

But yeah, Rush tends to be a love 'em or hate 'em type of band (Geddy Lee's voice seems like a particular point of contention for most people.)
For me they're the ultimate outsider's band, which is a big part of their appeal I think. They're a group that gets and embraces not fitting in, but who do their own thing so well that they've figured out how to be wildly successful at it. It doesn't hurt that all three of them are pretty much masters of their respective instruments, either.

On a side note, they tend to have a pretty cool fan base too. I've randomly gotten into conversations with strangers about Rush apparel I was wearing, which is quite a rare phenomenon for me XD

Despite being mostly shrugged off by critics, I think The Endless River was Pink Floyd's best album since at least The Final Cut, and maybe since The Wall.

I don't remember what song it was I heard, but my old roommate showed me some material off The Endless River and I really liked it.

Today's music is absolute garbage, and most kids my age are being hypotized by it. We need to get back to 70s and 80s funk music, as well as 90s new jack swing.

The first half of the album in particular has some amazing stuff. I think it served as a much better "final chapter" to Pink Floyd than the Division Bell did.

Aerosmith fans who are in denial in regards to Aerosmith retiring at the end of this year need to grow up!

U2 were always crap, but their recent material makes their old material almost palatable by comparison.
