The Pirate by Walter Scott - interestingly the novel starts with a perfect description of an Aspie - bloke with intense special interest, meltdowns, prefers isolation, very quite in social situations, others think he's quite weird etc. written in c1815.

"168 hours" by Laura Vanderkam.

It's a book about time management and how to make the most out of the 168 hours of a week. I'm always looking for positive ways to create structure in my life so I really like this book.

All the Spenser novels that I can get my hands on. Author: Robert B Parker. What a season-saver. I usually crash this time of year but these books are better than pills.

"Invisible" by James Patterson & David Ellis. I actually bought this one! It's a real book, with pages and everything. I bought it today in the pharmacy. I just lost control and threw it in my cart. I've read a bit and it's a snap-bang thriller. :)

I'm reading an account of the friendship of four Boston Red Sox players who played in the 1940s and 1950s.

I am reading a book named "Missiles of October". It gives declassified plans of the U.S. invasion of Cuba. There are two interesting things to note. during the first days of invasion about 18,000 soldiers would die. Why that much? The Soviet Union planned to use a low, two kiloton warhead above the troops. Secondly, Army Airborne and Navy SEALS planned to steal a SA-2 surface to air missile prior to invasion. Strip the rocket and learn its secrets. Based of 1962 statistics, out of a population of 170 million people at a nuclear strike on the United States:

Total Killed and injured:105 million people
Surviving:65 million people
Surviving casualties from the initial attack at 60 days:8 million people
Surviving casualties from fallout at 60 days:16 million people

The biggest losers would be Europe because both sides would release tactical nuclear weapons
