Queen Khanyisile
I created this character intending to use her as a love interest for one of my stories' protagonists, but since the story's in development hell, I don't know what to do with her now. I imagine Khanyisile to be a classier and less martially inclined woman than most of the African warrior woman characters I've designed over the years, but since I gravitate towards more action-packed stories, I don't know if she would be interesting as a protagonist in her own right.
Ranjitha the Lemurian
Here's a black female character who does not have an African inspiration for once. Instead her visual design drew upon South Asian and aboriginal Australasian cultures, and her name "Ranjitha" comes from Tamil (a Dravidian language spoken in southern India). I picture her native civilization, Lemuria, as having Dravidian-style architecture, but their music sounds more Australian with its droning didgeridoos.
