Thank you. I find posts like this very interesting. I think my favourite singer/songwriter has it. It would be long-winded if I go into why, but there's a preview of a book available online about Echo & The Bunnymen, if anyone's interested in doing their own research.

I liked Echo and the Bunnymen before Donnie Darko ever existed. :P

singing "Once I Was"-

Once I was a soldier
And I fought on foreign sands for you
Once I was a hunter
And I brought home fresh meat for you
Once I was a lover
And I searched behind your eyes for you
And soon there'll be another
To tell you I was just a lie

And sometimes I wonder
Just for a while
Will you remember me

And though you have forgotten
All of our rubbish dreams
I find myself searching
Through the ashes of our ruins
For the days when we smiled
And the hours that ran wild
With the magic of our eyes
And the silence of our words

And sometimes I wonder
Just for a while
Will you remember me

Seeing Leonard Cohen posted reminded me of Jeff Buckley, as Jeff sang a song called Hallelujah which was written by Cohen.

Jeff Buckley drowned long before I ever heard of his music. When I found out he had died a long time ago, I mourned his death for months. It seemed like existence had suffered a great loss. I am pretty sure he was an undiagnosed Aspie. His voice is sultry and ethereal with incredible range. Maybe you will fancy him.

There's a lot of versions of Hallelujah, and all the ones I've heard are good, but his was unreal. I found his version and downloaded it, then looked into the source of the beautiful voice and was chilled to find that after finding out he had drowned, I heard the song as if it were from beyond the grave. It just seemed to carry the tragedy of his death in every note. It's cooool... but very sad.

On the original topic... my 14-year-old is also proud to announce her favorites. She adores Queen, and thinks Freddy Mercury was the greatest. She also loves The Beatles, Rush, They Might Be Giants, and The Kinks, among others. Not a man under 40 among them, unless TMBG has some among their various collaborators. Her buddy at school is a Rush fan, too.

Boots Randolph is the greatest tenor sax man that ever lived.

He was the one who first recorded the classic "Yakety Sax" in 1958 on RCA Camden records. It was later re-recorded for Monument Records, released as a single, and became a hit.

At the end of the decade on the 19 November 1969, ITV Thames Television's first color programme of The Benny Hill Show closed with the "yakety sax" for the very first time of what was to become, a british comedy trademark.
