Led Zepp are most definitely metal! One of the bands that started it all.

Don't forget Black Sabbath, first band to coin the term heavy metal. They also influenced a lot of the doom metal bands like Saint Vitus, Trouble, Pentagram, Electric Wizard and others.

Not an AS, but I do have non-hyperactive A.D.D. I listen to bands like Immolation, Nile, Emperor, Sodom, Kreator, Demolition Hammer, Death, etc. Except for Emperor, I'm not big on norwegian black metal, but will listen to it when in the mood.

15 years ago and back but yeah; I grew up on stuff early on like Motley Cru, Poison, then flipped to stuff like Faith No More, Metallica, Suicidal Tendencies, Anthrax, Pantera, Alice In Chains, Ministry, etc.. I think the trouble I ran into was that the bench -at least of the sides and aspects of it that I liked - was a bit limited.

I like metal, the heavier the better. I don't like all the whining about genres. If it sounds good I'll listen to it again, if not then I won't.

Recently I found a band that's heavier than the cast of the View with a side dish of Oprah and I can't stop listening to them. I don't care that some people say it's deathcore, if this is deathcore then this is proof that deathcore can be awesome. Also fun that the song title describes the song most aptly. :dj:

I think this is a closer example of "good" "deathcore" or lets say: technical death metal with hardcore vocals.

Hardcore punk + death metal = deathcore? no?

I dunno...I don't really like getting too technical with genres. I mean, we could say that this is deathcore...

just cause it has high screams and low growls. But it's clearly not, it just doesn't have that vibe. Deathcore isn't just a combination of influences, it's sort of something independent of either, with its own distinct feeling and sound.
And it might sound like I'm a deathcore fan...trust me, I'm not.

I don't Consider myself much of a metalhead, more like a hard rocker or punk rocker. However, I do like metal, but mostly eurometal. They Include: Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Dio, Deep Purple, Rhapsody of Fire, Edguy, H.I.M., Nightwish and Ensiferum. There's a lot more, but most of my music dwells in Rock/J-Pop/Punk/Alternative

I like most of those bands Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Dio kick ass and I do enjoy Ensiferum.....not so much HIM or Nightwish but I really like the others...and I don't mind nightwish or HIM but they certainly aren't my favorites.

I have broad music tastes but that includes some metal. Classic - Sabbath, AC/DC, Judas Priest, Maiden. Thrash - Metallica up to the Black Album, Anthrax, Slayer in small doses. Death, Bolt Thrower, Carcass. Borknagar, Drudkh, Ulver, Wolves In The Throne Room. Industrial/metal crossover type stuff - Fear Factory, SYL, Rammstein. Some 'nu-metal' - Deftones, Disturbed, Spineshank. Current favourites Agalloch, Gojira, Opeth. Loads of 'post-metal', i.e. Isis/Cult Of Luna/other stuff influenced by Hydra Head type music.

I suspect most of the rest wouldn't be considered 'metal' as such. \m/

I think most here would say they like metal at least a bit; it is music for the outcast and is some of the most emotional music out there without being melodramatic. Shock metal bands I don't like though.

Any Devin Townsend fans here? I wanted to get into Strapping Young Lad but hearing one change in the rhythm make the wlal of sound collapse makes it too damn hard to listen to.

I love metal! I have been listening to it since i was 10. I started out listening to rock of course. Transitioned into metal when i was 13 or 14. I listened to metal before we had all these little kids getting mad at you calling everything metal and not using all these sub names.

Im not going to study music catagoreis. I want to enjoy the music and not make it work lol Its all metal to me!

I mean we did have a few catagories like rock, death metal, black metal and screamo but that was it. Not all this port hardcore and all the rest of that classification crap lol I dont think the exact type os sub name is import. Onlt the name of the band and the name of the song are important. Just enjoy!

I grew up with Mudvayne, slipknont, metallica, deicide, vision of disorder, carcass, deftones, tool, Manson, Mindless self indulgence, NIN, etc.

Mudvanye is my all time favorite band ever. Always was and always will be!! !!
