I love dubstep, but lately I've been listening mostly to Deadmau5 and Infected Mushroom, great stuff..!

I've always liked trance/techno.

I actually carry around a 1gb Kingston DataTraveler usb thumbdrive on my person at all times, I play with it endlessly in my pocket, it also has all my favorite tracks on it. I've carried that thing around with me for 4 years now. I bought a new head unit for the van that has a usb port in the faceplate. Built a slot ported subbox for the 10" 800watt DVC sub and stuffed that between the front seats. I even have a 20" monitor in the back so I can plug the netbook or tablet into the system. We converted a 1994 GMC Safari into a mini RV, dual batteries, queen size bed, seating for four tiny people, drop down table. So I have a portable chill out spot in the back. I drive BF to the store, I stay in the van bumpin to the music essentially ignoring everyone. Messing with peoples wifi. I like to find open networks and close them.*

Current track list:
1. Can't Stop Won't Stop - Stop, Drop, Roll (feat. Prince Early) (3:30)
2. Swagger (Original Mix) - Bombs Away (5:13)
3. Tango-Dubstep (3:57)
4. The Prodigy - Out Of Space (Bass Tandem Dubstep Remix) (5:16)
5. 16 Bit - Shallow (5:28 )
6. Awolnation - Sail - Unlimited Gravity Remix (5:49)
7. Band Of Horses - The Funeral (Sound Remedy Remix) (3:56)
8. Sound Remedy - Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata (Sound Remedy Remix) (6:08 )
9. Benga & Coki - Night (2:54)
10. Blue Foundation - Eyes On Fire (Zeds Dead Remix) (5:11)
11. Cant Stop Wont Stop - Up and Away (feat. June) (3:23)
12. Cant Stop Wont Stop (feat. Cam Groves) - Toys For Boys (2:13)
13. Cris Cab - Pumped Up Kicks (Foster The People Cover) (3:16)
14. Drop Goblin - Shake Yer Body (Dubstep Disco Freebie) (4:30)
15. Excision & Downlink - Existence VIP (3:20)
16. Kid Cudi vs. Crookers - Day n Night (3:06)
17. KO KO - Float (Sound Remedy Remix) (5:40)
18. La Roux - I m Not Your Toy (Nero Remix) (5:20)
19. Liquid Dubstep - December Chillstep Mix 2011 (15:15)
20. LiquidDubMusic Chillstep (27:04)
21. Lisa Mitchell - Neopolitan Dreams (Sound Remedy Remix) (6:00)
22. Lupe Fiasco - Words (Sound Remedy Remix) (7:20)
23. M Black - Heartbreak (Bare Noize Remix) (4:00)
24. Michel Cleis - La Mezcla (DJ Rowan Short Edit)(2) (5:04)
25. Neil Young - Old Man (Sound Remedy Remix) (3:24)
26. Nelly Furtado - Turn Out the Lights (SLOF MAN Dubstep remix) (5:04)
27. Sound Remedy - Nirvana - All Apologies (Sound Remedy Remix) (5:46)
28. Stimming - Challenge the air (7:20)
29. Stimming - Silver Surfer (6:22)

Here's a pic of the inside of the van. Taken during a camping trip. The sub box is to the right between the seats under the fuzzy white doggy pad, he rides on it. Has my favorite fuzzy blanket and if you look real careful you can see puppy ears on the left.

*Don't ask me how I got going on the Van/RV conversion, sorry, ramble on....

I'm not sure what you're talking about but I am also able to feel music over my body. I did not think it as synesthasia before though.
Maybe I wondered before.

Yeah it's experienced by me as textures. The "dirtiest" dubstep contains multiple levels of bass tracks that are physically soothing to me, like a deep tissue massage. I'm one of those Aspies that can't get enough of being touched and touching things.

Well I'm an aspie and I despise dubstep. It sounds like two early ninety's printers doing strange sex acts...

On Urbandictionary.com it is defined as being "the music created from transformers having sex," and "what Megatron sings in the shower." There's a third definition I really like, but I'd probably get banned if I posted it.

I'm curious if other Aspies are drawn to it because there is a lot of motion, a lot of bleeps and bloops, just a lot of stuff that grabs my attention when other music is becoming more and more mundane for me.

Each of the following examples has a "bass drop" at some point where the music goes from pretty to ugly, and that's kind of what defines it for me. I like the pretty digital stuff too, but the bass drop and all the sound effects... yeeeaaah.

"Cinema" by Benny Benassi feat Gary Go, remixed by Skrillex: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaIZ0mUJzr0

"Game Time" by Zomboy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZnMb93C0Og

"Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites" by Skrillex: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSeNSzJ2-Jw

I found "Cinema" quite strange and offputting. The pretty-to-ugly thing doesn't work for me on such a drastic scale as this. It's like watching The Notebook then suddenly it's the main action scene Transformers. I find it works well when the genre stays essentialy the same, e.g. Foo Fighters change from light to heavy quite often in their songs but it is still identifiable as the same song.

I don't know much about bubstep other than the few songs that come on the radio, but from what I've heard so far, I like the bass, but dislike the mess (too much going on in what to me is almost a disorganised way).

I absolutely LOVE dubstep, blast in my car on the way to and from work and I get so pumped I can take on the world, for a little while anyway. :)

There was a thread a while ago where there were a lot of embedded videos of some of the best dubstep songs ever. Bassnectar's remix of Ellie(?) Goulding? (spelling?) "Lights" is one of the coolest pop music remixes to me.

I have synesthesia with sound and tactile so I literally feel the bass (not just the subwoofer part that everyone can feel as vibration); it's hard to describe and I'm not very poetic usually lol :D

Trance worked for a real long time, until I discovered dubstep. For trance I still like Juno Reactor and Orbital a lot. Probably familiar names by now.

Sorry kirayng, I must have missed your post, I have chromesthesia (colours and patterns, flashes of light) and HSP. I love trance and dubstep, things with lots of repetition and different high tones and super low tones. I feel the bass in ways I can't describe... Here in a public forum...

Dubstep is like a life form, it keeps evolving.

I do get tired of it after awhile, like it's too much too much. Like being in a dance club for a few hours with the lights and music going full blast.

I am rather amused that there's an artist that goes by "Stimming" given the context of this forum. :D

 It's good stuff though. It's actually the artists last name. Slick down tempo minimalist.

Link to article for DJ Martin Stimming.

Music is my life... I think there are music that appeal to aspies, especially repetitive ones, but I usually love electro-downtempo stuffs... I love Trip-Hop like Massive Attack and Portishead

or electro music like Trentemoller or Extrawelt, or trancey stuffs like some obscure german electro krautrock bands.

I love the band Can, especially the drumming.

My tastes are clearly Aspie related

I definitely like dubstep, but I wouldn't say I'm entirely in love with all of it. I'm definitely more into hip hop and rap. Those bass drops are appealing though. :D
