Hello....this was back in the late 90s.
I'm not hating on rap....I'm hating on today's mainstream rap/hip-hop made in the early 21st century. I'm talking about 50CENT, G-UNIT, The Game, Dirty South Rap, and sh*t. They can't sing, and their music is crappy. I prefer the enjoyable classic hip-hop/r&b (Heavy D, TLC, Next, Jodeci, Brandy, Will Smith, the great r&b/hip-hop artist from the 80s and 90s).

I really detest James Blunt and Daniel Powter. I also can't stand Dildo, sorry Dido. In fact, there's not much music I DO like.

I dislike the majority of Nickelback's music, with the notable exception of "Far Away".

I can't stand Natasha Bedingfield. I liked her brother's music a lot better (Daniel Bedingfield... He did "Gotta Get Thru This" back in '03).

K.T. Tuinstall's "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" is the worst piece of music I've ever heard in my entire life. :?

I think hating any type of music is a waste of time. All music has some sort of merit.

Can't list artists, so here are some styles.
* Most of what people cal pop
* Including "dance" and "club" music. (I listen to a lot of "dance" and "club" music, but not the kind they play on the radio)
* Country
* Any forms of ballads
* Anything cheesy
* Rock music (The type that you actually just call rock)
* Probably most music people would call emo (I have stayed so far away from the genre that I don't even know for sure what it is.)

It isn't a waste of time to not like something, it just means that you stay away from it.

Aye to that! When I was living in Central America, half the time young men men were playing that stuff in the camionetas and electronics shops, loud enough to hear five blocks away.

Of course, any kind of music is more annoying when you're forced to listen to it at high volume against your will.

I don't know how people listen to that crap, while saying they don't like it. I know a girl from college that once said to me "I hate reggaeton", then, and after some days I noticed she was listening to reggaeton on her iPod :roll:

If you look hard enough there's a good word and/or note in pretty much everything.... I guess the ratio of subjective “good” to “bad” determines whether you listen to it or not.

I can kind of identify. The first reggaeton song I ever heard, I liked. So I went out to the mercado and bought a cd (illegally made... I don't do that anymore), and the rest of the songs on the disk were so revoltingly misogynistic and artless, I got rid of the thing within days.
