I thought “copy machine” was “coffee machine” in It All Comes Out in the Wash by Miranda Lambert.

The 1965 song 'Lies' by 'The Knickerbockers' - The song lyrics, and song title 'Lies' were misheard as 'Life.' Regardless of how the lyrics were heard, the song is awesome!

"Hark the Herod angels sinning
Glory to the new-born King..."

That carol scared me at primary school. I thought it was a glimpse in the dark side of the Bible, where King Herod had his own evil angels to help him murder babies, and maybe that's what people meant by "Hell's Angels." And a lot of other bad stuff was going on- someone got "robed in flesh," which just sounded horrific.

ADDENDUM: Lyrics were also misunderstood as "like my brother Loren and I." The names Laurent' and Loren are considered masculine names in Anne Murray's native Canada.

Theme to the 1978 movie 'Grease' - The lyrics, "we take the pressure and we throw away, conventionality belongs to yesterday" was misheard as, "we take the pressure and we throw away, mentionality belongs to yesterday."

'Mentionality' is not even an English language word.

Regardless of how the lyrics were heard, many of the 1970s styles in Rock were awesome!

"you're innocent when you drink", instead of "you're innocent when you dream" In my defence, it was Tom Waits and he used to blame his piano for drinking...

ADDENDUM on 1978 Grease lyrics: The ending of the Grease theme is "is the word" (as in Grease is the word) is sung several times. This ending was misheard as "don't worry" or "don't hurry" sung several times.
