Listening the Simon and Garfunkel's Bridge Over Troubled Waters always brings tears to my eyes. The music with full orchestration, heartfelt lyrics, and Art Garfunkel's angelic rendition, just beautiful.

I named my horse Silver Girl because of that song. I love Artie too -- I saw him perform in January.

I saw Simon and Garfunkel perform at an outdoor concert and again at an indoor venue. Both times were wonderful experiences. You have a horse! I  horses. Such majestic creatures. What kind of horse is Silver Girl?

I don't have a horse now. This was many years ago, when I was 13 - 16. My grandfather kept a few horses at his property.

Silver Girl is on the right.

No, she wasn't silver -- I just liked the lyric from Simon & Garfunkel. 8)

lyrics-
NANA [Manuel De Falla]
Duérmete, niño, duerme, [Go to sleep, boy, sleep,]
Duerme, mi alma, [Sleep, my soul.]
Duérmete, lucerito [Go to sleep, little star]
De la mañana. [Of the morning.]
Naninta, nana, [Lulla, Lullaby]
Naninta, nana. [Lulla, Lullaby]
Duérmete, lucerito [Go to sleep, little star]
De la mañana. [Of the morning.]
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
Note- in this context, "Nana" means "Lullaby"
this is a song about a refugee, a mother and her child, singing her son asleep with a lullaby, wishing they were home. :(

"hallelujah" - Jeff Buckley (yes, I know it's a cover).
"strange fruit" - Billie Holiday

KD Lang's rendition is emotional and silky smooth. One of my favorites.

Merry Little Christmas, Judy Garland

Through the years we all will be together
If the fates allow

That gets me every time. ^

Wild is the Wind - Nina Simone (although Cat Power's version is very powerful and I might prefer it).

The Nina Simone version feels a bit desperate while Cat Power's presentation is romantically wistful and more to my liking.
