Girls, you were born to run To reach the stars and chase the sun Girls, you are wild and free The wind is at your back, the world is at your feet
Hope you always know your worth Though I know that life can hurt Hope you know that you can turn to each other Hope the road ahead is clear And I hope you know when I'm not here That you'll always have the love of your mother
Also here's some beautiful tribal music about the amazons of Greek Mythology.
I always found it interesting that a society as patriarchal as Ancient Greece created the legendary tribe of lady warriors who fought with just as much courage and pride as the male soldiers of Ancient Greece.
I'm currently reading The Iliad and there's a part in the story where the amazons come to aid the Trojans and are led by their queen Penthesilea. After she was slain by the hero Achilles I think it was implied that he took pity on the beautiful Queen of the Amazons and wanted to bury her with respect but another soldier named Thersites taunts him and defiles the queen's body, causing an angered Achilles to kill him...
What a terrible life for a woman Who just wants to be left alone What a horrible world for all of the girls Getting cat called as their walking home With keys in her hand You don’t understand what she’s had to do to get here What a beautiful life for a woman Who knows what she’s worth and knows why she’s here.
What a pretty distraction They told her to cover up her shoulders Cause the boys couldn’t focus Maybe they should teach him To control his own actions But that’s not what happens
I was told something similar by an elder in my former church with some inappropriate and unnecessary commentary about my body. That elder made his daughter wear baggy clothes. That did wonders for her self-esteem.

If you'll notice this is a Japanese onna-bugeisha or onna-musha weilding a naginata (a curved spear often associated with the proud lady warriors of Japan).
