Most of all, I have become a total fan of The Edge. He's such a great guitarist. I didn't get him for the longest time.

But then I heard "Rejoice". It changed everything for me.

I also love his work on "Desire" and "Trip Through Your Wires".

The last time it hit me was when "Mysterious Ways" was on the radio and I thought it was a Stone Roses song from the "Second Coming" because the guitar sounded like that so much.

For years, I didn't know it was a song by U2. I was really shocked when I listened to the song the first time knowing it was by U2.

The vid reminds me of The Stone Roses too - the desert-y theme. You make a good point.

I swear I thought it was John Squire!

But then I heard Bono. XD

Yeah, well... the video did not remind me of "Fools Gold", but... yeah... desert... It is a parallel.

I don't really care for U2 but I love telling Bono jokes.

Here's a Bono joke:
A good, honest and hard working guitarist walks into the gates of heaven. He See's Bono walking around the clouds.
The guitarists asks the naked male angel standing guard of the gate "When did Bono die?". The angel answers "That greedy bastard is still on earth". Then who the hell is that? Asks the good and honest guitarist. That is just God who is a massive U2 fan. He is pretending to be his rock idol agian.

I am a big fan. I love The Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby, and Zooropa.

Best tracks are: The Fly, The Unforgettable Fire, All I want is You, So Cruel, Lemon, Stay, Dirty Day, and the poetic One Tree Hill.

Too many to mention, they are superb. I saw them play in Ireland once and was in a crowd of 80,000 people!

The ZooTV live in sydney DVD is the best to watch especially when "Where the streets have no name" starts. It will make your spine shiver.

I really like U2. One of my favourite songs from them is Original of the Species.

edit: like? that's not strictly true... they were the first band I loved and that was because they were the first band that I'd heard all by myself. Picture this: Christmas 1990 and I'm nearly 4... I've loved them ever since, but I have also grown up in that nearly 22 years and liked other music, but when I want to feel like I did back then, I pick a U2 cd to listen to.

It's a beautiful day when you find a U2 thread
