@ the other posts: I personally love Queen, Guns 'n Roses, the beatles and Don Mclean. :P I don't see what's overrated about it.

The most overrated song in my opinion is Chop Suey by System of a Down. It isn't really music made with emotion but just commercial crap with random lyrics.

Also that Enrique Englesias(?) stuff is awfull. But I think everyone agrees with that one. ;)

EDIT: How could I forget Nirvana - Smells like teen spirit

the Toxicity album by SOAD got a massive fuss made over it when it was first released. I mean it was completely hysterical in a good way, but I listened to it the other day just thought, 'why'd we get so worked up over this?'

I think a lot of very boring but critically acclaimed, (or at least heavily blogged) bands are overrated - Glass Candy, Deerhunter, Effi Briest... so many more I can't remember the names of.
