I dont want to sound like a dinosaur but.... what is it?

It's a social networking site devoted to music.

Many cool features are including in this site.

You get a profile page displaying your music life.
With a program installed on your computer, musical tracks you play on your media player or iPod get submitted (aka "scrobbled") to your profile, and your profile page displays charts based on what you listen to (i.e. Recently Played Tracks, Top Artists, Top Tracks, etc.)
The site also acts as a music recommendation system, it observes what you listen to and recommends you new music. There is also an internet radio function, and you can scrobble tracks through it and it will also give you similar artists/tracks to what you listen to.
Then there is of course a friends system, and a neighbor system (your "neighbors" are users who have similar music tastes as you and is based on a compatibility type thing).
Your profile also includes a built-in blog system, which you can write about whatever you want in your journals, and mini-forums called "groups," involving users of the site.
