Whoso hunt to list topic

I even read on a site yesterday that a hitler was supposed to be an Aspie. 8O If he is, I opt out.

Unbelieveable.

Just jump on the Aspie bandwagon. Plenty of room. :x

One person that I haven't seen mentioned is Beethoven. From what I understand, he showed just as many AS traits as Mozart, including aloofness, an unkempt appearance, a love of routine, and obviously both extremely talent and obsession with music.

Thomas Jefferson is an Aspie, check out this book.

http://www.amazon.com/Diagnosing-Jeffer ... 329&sr=8-1

He hated the "system" (hence the Declaration of Independence).
He obsessed over Monticello.
He loved his colored sister-in-law after being a widow.
He waffled on various issues, showing indifferent objectivity.
He lobbied to congressionally get Monticello back when he went broke.
He obsessively recorded his finances and journals.
He obsessively built the University of Virginia.
He dressed in peculiar, non-stuffy clothing.
He was an all-around divergent person capable of birthing intellectual freedom like no other.

Isn't Morrisey diagnosed as well?

If Jack White is on the list (not without reason), then you should put Meg White as well. She's really shy, has a strange (albeit sweet) smile, doesn't talk (even when she's asked to, she speaks as little as possible and prefers Jack to do it for her), and when they gave a concert here, she wouldn't look at the audience, she would just look down at her drums, or at Jack when he went to where she was. And at the end she didn't know what to do or how to say goodbye or go out (while everybody wanted her to give them a handshake), it took Jack to literally sweep her off her feet and carry her all the way out.

This was in 2005 (like, 1 day before Jack got married in Brazil) so they were no amateurs.

Adolf Hitler had Anti social personality disorder--not Asperger's. He lacked the ability to feel remorse, sympathy etc., abilities which people with Aspergers has. He was also very charismatic. ASPD coombined with a traumatic childhood, is what caused Hitler to become a psycopath. ASPD is heradatory, so I think his father also had it.

Syd Barrett was just a very strange person before he took drugs (and still managed to write some of the most brillaint songs ever recorded to tape), but he isn't an aspie IMO.

Ian Curtis (listed twice!) was epileptic.
Rivers Cuomo is nowhere near being an aspie. Not even close. Same with Frank Zappa.
Mitch Hedberg? Really?

Thom Yorke is a strange case. He certainly acts odd, but i'm on the fence about him. Ditto Aphex Twin.
Buckethead as well. I actually don't know enough about his actual personality to make any judgment.
I saw an A&E Biography on Phil Spector and he seems to be somewhere on the Autism spectrum because of some of the weird things he does.

Asperger athletes:

Paavo Nurmi
Roger Bannister

Nurmi was very reclusive, probably the most extreme introvert in athletic history. His obsession with running was so strong that it cost him his marriage.

Bannister, on the other hand, though serious-minded and shy, did not let running take over his life. Instead, he devoted his energies to medicine, becoming a neurologist. He has also been married to his wife, Moyra, for over 50 years.

Having you spoken to any of those people on the list in person? Most likely not. So how could you know for sure they're Aspies?

Wouldn't suprise me if the bodybuilder Steve Michalik was an aspie.

Asperger's List topic

Dear Reodor_Felgen

I agree with you about a hitler. There was a study done on him by a psychiatrist in the early 1940s as the US government wanted some input as to how to defeat the nazis. This mass murderer was one of the most vile human beings ever to pollute the planet. Not an Aspie. I just could not believe I saw his name on another Aspie list (not the one in the topic). Thank you for pointing out the info about his psychopathology.

Its GOOD to have role models haha...

I sort of think about diagnosing celebs too lol obsessively too i guess... Guess It makes me feel better lol

haha sorta thought aussie actor Heath ledger might be... lol posted it on here a while back :P

But yea Ive been looking at my family seeing who I can diagnose never spoken to them about it.. Know my grandfather definitely does. he has all signs :P lol ..

HOW can we diagnose famous people with aspergers?
I thought speech therapy would be a key?
Isnt that a must for aspergers?.... or not....
