I'm familiar with both Mr. Bungle and Melt Banana. I'm not that familiar with Mr. Bungle, though I like a lot of stuff by Melt Banana.

1. Pink Floyd
2. Yes
3. Muse (yes, they're prog rock)
4. Mew
5. King Crimson

I only own one Camel album ("I Can See Your House From Here". Mostly cuz the cover is AWESOME). and Mars Volta are def. #6 on the list.

I consider Syd Barrett "psychedelic folk", but if I did consider him prog he'd be #1.

Never got into progressive rock, but I do like this band a lot. Found it from a friend, never really looked into any more PR though, maybe I will.

ELP were one of the major bands of the original British prog movement in the early 70s, along with Yes and Genesis. The band consisted of Keith Emerson, Greg Lake and Carl Palmer (and, interestingly, they were originally looking to form the acronym HELP, but Jimi Hendrix died before that could become a reality). Their work was heavily based on classical music, with much of their catalogue consisting of prog-rock reinterpretations of pieces written by composers like Modest Mussorgsky, Aaron Copeland, and Alberto Ginastera. Their best known work, however, is probably their original song "Karn Evil 9 (1st Impression)".

Anyway, this is my list:

1. Porcupine Tree
2. Riverside
3. Tool
4. Pink Floyd
5. Dream Theater

I'm also a fan of the aforementioned ELP, Yes, King Crimson, Rush, Queensrÿche, Muse, A Perfect Circle, The Mars Volta, Steven Wilson's solo work, Lunatic Soul, and TesseracT, and I'm sort of warming up to Mastodon.

Did you mean 1st Impression Part Two? (Welcome back my friends...)

I'd recommend Tarkus as well.
