My Bloody Valentine's Loveless really is a pinnacle. A rare emotional bond. Lovely.
I saw them in Manchester the other week... second best gig of all time. Some tearfully good moments.
I envy you.

I'm actually unsure where to draw the line between "dream pop" and "shoegaze".
well dream pop has an delay with a psychedelic sounding without the fuzzy sound like the cocteau twins
and shoegaze has mixes of Space rock, Dream pop alongside the noise rock like sonic youth and dinosaur jr combing with spaceman 3, Loop, Jesus and Mary Chain and Cocteau twins
that's what i think
Yeah, I think your definition says it quite well.

M83? Really? They're too 'lush' to fit my definition of shoegaze...
like "lush" the word or "Lush" the band?
because the latter is a shoegazing band.
I sometimes wonder whether "Lush" could also qualify as dream pop. Like "Mew".

i got My Bloody Valentine - Loveless cus of this thread gotta admit im not terribly into it .. maby it will grow on me, but it somehow seems kinda silly
It's funny. I usually take a long time until I get into music, but I immediately fell in love with "Loveless". I still can't listen to "Isn't Anything" though...

Lose my breath by My Bloody Valentine is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever made and I'm a big Spaceman 3/Spiritualized fan but a lot of the other shoegazing bands have always left me cold. I liked Swervedriver but maybe thats because they rocked a bit harder than a lot of the other bands. I've always felt bands like Mogwai and GY!BE better represent what the better original shoegaze bands were all about than groups like Silversun Pickups, who are OK but a bit too lightweight
Aw, Spacemen 3. <3

has anyone heard primary colours by the horrors. I'm really into it just now. Sounds a lot like jesus and mary chain and my bloody valentine.
Yeah, the album is cool. VERY different to their first record. I was amazed.
