i like that official feeling of having the actual cd. plus, it's nice to get out into the real world from time to time.

I think most people can tell by now that most of that I listen to and am passionate about isn't storebought just because it can't be. Still though when people say top 10 cds I still think of top 10 non-electronic just because, lol, as much as I love drum & bass it just feels a bit irreverant to put something like a dj mix or label compilation over something like Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, and such - people just tend to get offended or think they're seeing lack of developed taste and with me that's about the farthest thing from the truth.

I like supporting my favorite artists, thanks. For big bands I don't have much of a problem with piracy because they're making lots of money anyway (not that I use any file sharing software myself) but for independent ones, I think that an artist deserves to be paid for their work.

Top 10 CDs.

I want a top 20 :( But here is a top 10 with very close decision making:

01. Master Of Puppets - Metallica
02. The Number Of The Beast - Iron Maiden
03. You've Come Along Way Baby - Fatboy Slim
04. Music For The Jilted Generation - The Prodigy
05. The Fat Of The Land - The Prodigy
06. The Dirtchamber Sessions Volume One - The Prodigy
07. Experience - The Prodigy
08. Better Living Through Chemistry - Fatboy Slim
09. Peace Sells....But Who's Buying? - Megadeth
10. Ascendancy - Trivium

If it was a top 20 the list of great albums will continue.

The only music I download are songs from anime. I can buy regular cds cheaply at Best Buy or Walmart whenever they have a sale. The most I end up paying is 11 bucks. You're a bad shopper.

Edit:

Repeated.

I think electronic music is just as valid a medium though :)

It'll all be mp3 soon... However like records cds will live on.

Anyway my top 10 is constantly evolving, but I'll try:

1- Devin Townsend - Infinity
2- Tool - Lateralus
3 -Devin Townsend - Terria
4- Aphex Twin - 26 mixes for cash
5- Phil Arbon - Cognitive Dissonance (this is me, egotistical no? hehe)
6- Nine Inch Nails - The fragile
7- Bjork - Homogenic
8- Strapping young lad - ALL ALBUMS
9- Mudvayne - L.D.50
10- Meshuggah - Chaosphere

However some of the artists are so consistently amazing that the favourite album changes.

changes.

One of these days they may also get cd in 24 bit or even start putting music on DVDs for surround sound even in your car. Its funny, people would have really thought that vinyl would be dead but its anything but - djs have tried cd mixing or adding a track or two via cd to a set mostly spun on Technics but most of the pros still won't touch it (though I've noticed trance djs seem more open-minded to partial use, most hard techno or jungle/d&b djs wouldn't get near it).
