Most of what I recognized was retro '90s Christian rock. I know the genre has a cult following; I'm not one of the cult followers though.
+ for Weird Al though. A bit puerile but I don't think I would be listening to music if not for him, R.E.M, and They Might be Giants.
4.01/10

As for my taste, go take a look at my last.fm profile [[link]].

richardbenson: you didn't rate nansnick's taste, so I guess I'll do you both:

nansnick: Going from two posts ago, 5/10. Radiohead's always good, but I've never been a Neko Case fan.

richardbenson: 2.96/10. I know that metal's a difficult genre to traverse because of the diversity contained within, but to me it's all a but too samey.

As with last time, last.fm page ((link)); do take a look there to see to what I listen.

Very Trendy & Hip, a little too Cool for my tastes. I'll go with a 5/10 as well.

My musical interests as dictated by the last 48 hours:

* Lady Sovereign
* The Free Press
* Patsy Cline
* Asobi Seksu
* Miles Davis
* Ohm

A fair bit of diversity in your listening habits, ranging from more modern artists to older sounds. You must be quite open minded with your musical tastes. Patsy Cline is the only one I'm fairly familiar with however. 8/10, because I'm apparently supposed to put a number rating at the end of this.

I'm a fan of a few of them, but for the most part is doesn't really seem like my type. However, I'm not saying it's a bad taste in music, I think it's actually good, there is nothing in the list that I would say is bad - I just don't listen to most of the bands.

Here's a few randoms from my selection of music:

Death Cab for Cutie
Joel Plaskett
Cat Power
Modest Mouse
Bob Dylan
Coldplay
Wintersleep
The Shins
Stars
Tegan and Sara
Band of Horses
Radiohead
Mardeen
The Beatles
Metric
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
The Weakerthans
Old 97's
Sam Roberts
Nirvana
The Black Keys
Belle & Sebastian
Matt Costa
Lindsey Jane
Eluvium
Mogwai

ugh i think if you put music on at a party i would have to leave the room. i'm sorry.

i will have to break this up into two lists

right now:
marissa nadler
xmal deutschland
robin crutchfield
glenn gould playing handel, bach harpsichord pieces
bonny billy and the marquis de tren
the moon lay hidden beneath a cloud
sonny sharrock
wiley

always:
morton feldman
john cage
conlon nancarrow
robert wyatt
the ex
henri chopin(sound poet not composer)
orson welles mercury theatre on the air(does radio plays count as music?)
gregory whitehead(same as above)

i'm a sound engineer/sound artist so i'm pretty picky

but i also have music that i would put on that other people have to listen to as well. i only listen to this music alone or at concerts.

when people are around depending on the mood i might put on

any number of 80's new wave, deutsche welle, electronic etc etc
