The Bootleg Series Vol. 4: Live 1966 - Bob Dylan

Right now on the last track, Like A Rolling Stone.

This is a legendary gig and a very rare example of Bob releasing a complete gig.

Disc 1 - Acoustic Set

1. "She Belongs to Me" 3:27
2. "4th Time Around" 4:37
3. "Visions of Johanna" 8:08
4. "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue" 5:45
5. "Desolation Row" 11:31
6. "Just Like a Woman" 5:52
7. "Mr. Tambourine Man" 8:52

Disc 2 - Electric Set (with the Hawks, later to become the Band)

1. "Tell Me, Momma" 5:10
2. "I Don't Believe You (She Acts Like We Never Have Met)" 6:07
3. "Baby, Let Me Follow You Down" 3:46
4. "Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues" 6:50
5. "Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat" 4:50
6. "One Too Many Mornings" 4:22
7. "Ballad of a Thin Man" 7:55
8. "Like a Rolling Stone" 8:01 (the JUDAS version)

After "Judas!", there is clapping, followed by more heckles. Dylan then says "I don't believe you", then after a pause, "You're a liar." Bob Dylan then said to his band, "play it f****n' loud" as they begin "Like a Rolling Stone." At the end, the audience erupts into applause and Dylan says, "Thank you." Recorded at the Festival Hall in Manchester on the 16th of May 1966 (often incorrectly attributed to the Royal Albert Hall).

when i was young, there was no digital, no youtube, mostly AM radio which only played country music or Sinatra.
after 10pm in the midwest US, an FM radio station in Oklahoma City (KOMA) would crank it's broadcast power up and my old Chevy pickup radio could recieve the signal 724 kilometers away.
it would only last till about 3am.
..but they played the very coolest music. much better than any local music.
mostly rock.
and it was scratchy, fading in and out, far away, hard to catch lyrics.
some good cruising nights back then.
...head in a cloud.
this recording reminds me of those...

Moonage Daydream & Ziggy Stardust - David Bowie

while of course singing and, yes, a bit ashamedly also doing all of the moves one might see on stage. you know, in my dull, boring life it is nice for just a moment to pretend to live another life, and if that is that of a Ziggyesque figure, then so be it. Also, they fit exactly into my range, more than i can say of what i sang directly previously (The Band).

What doesn't help is that my voice has changed, whether by habit or not. When i sing it always sounds slightly sped-up in timbre. Also my stupid allergies make it very difficult to hit everything in summer (goes to my throat and vocal cords). I don't have the best nor the worst voice. I just have no confidence in it most of the time.
