Thanks for the kind words, guys. That picture of vash isn't entirely original though. I drew it, but the design was someone else's original fanart that I thought looked awesome, so I decided to draw it myself.

I'm not very good at creating unique poses/situations/whatever or drawing without a visual aid, but I'm getting there. Not so much in creating unique poses, but in drawing without a visual aid. Anything I've uploaded that's on lined or colored paper, and the picture of radditz are all done without visual aid. The ones that are on plain white paper all involved looking at something while I draw it. But I never trace ANYTHING as that just defeats the purpose.

I also don't think I'm too good at drawing the female form. I'm used to drawing big muscular DBZ characters mostly, and when I try to make the women muscular, they end up just looking really butch and not very feminine at all beyond the fact that they have boobs. I think Tifa wasn't too bad, but the face looks too plain. But then they say you're usually your own worst critic...

I like this one too, especially how you rendered his clothes.

lol, thanks, I liked that too, but it took forever and was a huge pain in the rear to get all the wrinkles and everything to look right. I don't know if you can tell, but there's lots of leftover graphite on the paper from all the times I screwed it up before I got it right and had to erase.

You can only get better, right?

I improved a lot over the last 5 months, actually. It just takes some effort. :thumright:

yeah, I know, and there was a HUGE gap in my latest drawing and the last one before it. I just haven't been doing much drawing lately. i have to be in the right mood to do it, or it just tends to turn out badly for some reason. I can't explain what kind of mood it is... It's not really even a mood, perse, but i guess a state of mind... I dunno, maybe it's timing. Who knows?

By the way, your drawings are pretty damn good too.

Thanks! I used to hate them, but I just tried to figure out what I didn't like and I worked on fixing that. For me, that was mostly hands, body proportions, and faces.

Ah... I've had trouble with those too... A lot of my older drawings have hands that are hidden behind things. Hands were always some of the most difficult parts to draw for me. I can do the basic shape and everything, but making it look not like a cartoon(even though the art style is based on anime, it's a fairly realistic one in terms of anatomy) is a bit more difficult.

One thing an old yahoo chat friend told me he used to do, is he would use his own body as a point of reference. Like, he'd position his hand how he'd want his character's hand to look, and he'd just draw his hand. Or I guess he'd take pictures sometimes too. I never really tried it, but it makes sense.

I'd go on your friends advice. That's exactly what I did. I also looked at people and how they moved, how their limbs work, and knowing how parts of the body moves helps a lot. I also like looking at other's drawings of people. Brandon's is actually a really good example of what I mean. It's exaggerated a little bit, but in a way that makes it interesting and creative. (I especially like the way he draws his character's ears.)

she is supposed to be blonde, and i am trying to think of a way of coloring her head in.
also the man is more tanned than the woman, and i am likewise hamstrung with the inability to color in their arms and legs.

Very cute and funny, b9. It looks like a happy family. :D
I like this kind of innocent drawings, they remind me of childhood.

They are too skinny. Give them something to eat. :)

I bought an ammo can last month and used it as a reference for this model.
Still needs some more detail on the inside of the lid as well as actual textures.

Image

Also I still need to do this.
I started it a while ago but haven't finished...
I think I'm about halfway through the tail, then it just needs eyes, cutie marks, and maybe a mouth and nostrils, though if I felt like adding those in I would model them in rather than just making it a part of the texture.
It's a Coke pony by the way. No idea where it started, but it's a pony with the same properties as a glass bottle of Coke.

A small sprite I made based off one of the best(and possibly longest!) web stories ever made.
