Pharaoh Asethotep of Kametu


Even Pharaohs need to give their heads fresh, cool air once in a while. After all, a crown is never a comfortable thing to wear.

Not being a black person, I had to look up a photo reference for what Afro-type hair looks like when it has just started to grow back from shaving.

They all got squished.

Decided to add some shading and highlights to Asethotep:

A Romanesque warrior tries to win my Pharaoh character over with his biceps, but she is not amused.

My OC Pharaoh Asethotep kneels in prayer, holding a bowl of offerings for her divine ancestors. In Kametian culture, the role of Pharaoh is every bit as religious as it is political, for Pharaohs are regarded as descendents of the Sun Herself. Whenever a Pharaoh dies, her spirit ascends to the heavens as a fully fledged deity whom her descendents venerate the way most lay Kametians venerate their own ancestors' spirits. Of all the numerous spiritual entities populating the Kametian pantheon, few have more personal significance for Asethotep than her mother and predecessor Woserit, from whom she regularly seeks consolation.

I don't understand why men throughout history have fought to deny women their right to power. The way I see it, empowered women can be sexy.

I agree with Titangeek, it's beautiful. I especially like the dots near the eyebrow (is it face paint?).

Thank you both. =) and Brandon the dots are actually very small horns. This portrait is of my Drakken Druid from Everquest, they are dragon-touched humanoids created by the dragon god Veeshan. Each Drakken is blessed by one of the nature visages of Veeshan there is black, red, white gold and green. I chose green as an obvious theme for a Druid. They also have scale-tatoos. I am just not THAT good. =)

Fire Within

To uphold this time of year and the proximity of Samhain I did this piece to represent the inner fire of practitioners of Nature Spirituality. Paganism is now recognized as an umbrella of earth spiritual paths. The witch is usually represented as an old hag with ugly teeth and warts. This witch portrait is about a witche's personal power and inner fire.

Dyese is a professional huntress whose favorite delicacy is barbecued Velociraptor. She hunts dinosaurs with poisoned arrows.
