no, however the youtube version is only 720p , and it is also compressed. the original file is about 3.5 gb.

I love fractals, this was great! ..

To what degree do you feel you were able to represent the pattern from what you saw in your mind's eye? (If you could put a percentage on it, that would be helpful to me..)

that is a difficult question to answer. i will try to answer in the most abridged way i can.

i sometimes feel a "mental itch" which i wish to "scratch" by thinking in certain ways. but in scratching that mental itch, the mental itch gets more intense, and i have to think of other "scratching" mechanisms that are looped within the more fundamental scratching routines, and the routines in the subroutines counterpoint the procession of the fundamental sequence of routines.

sometimes i think to a depth of 8 nests in order to get my mental itch scratched.

the video i recently posted has eight progressively nested design subroutines that are fed by their hierarchical actuators all the way up the chain of command to the stock idea.

i can "see" in my imagination the pattern that a series of confluent fluid procedures would make, but it is only when i see the result that it takes on a visual quality.

it is very difficult to explain actually.

so percentage wise? i can see in a different ethereal way what will be created, but i never actually SEE it until the program has run it's course.

in a trivial vein i will say that it took 96 hours for my cpu to process.

You captured her eyes beautifully, even without the color.. amazing work!

the expression that she captured on the girls face was exceptional. i do not understand expressions much, but i understand the expression on the face in this sketch to be an expression of hopeless surprise, as if she has been discovered by the S.S. it reminds me of an otherwise happy jewish girl realizing that her life will be over in a short time.

Thank you so much :)

If you have a way to transfer big files - great.. if not, I am satisfied with your posted version here. The time and effort for you to transfer that big a file feels like me stepping on your kindness.

I have been stalled on my creativity... you have given me back a spark and excitement to proceed.. I can't thank you enough :)

Conan the Barbarian fan art:

Image
Conan in Kush

Conan the Cimmerian admires a scenic view of the desert from atop an ancient Kushite colossus.

A lot of Hyborian-themed media featuring the Kushites (e.g. the recent Conan video game) depicts them as stereotypical African tribespeople living in grass huts in a savanna. I wanted to present a contrary, civilized vision of Hyborian Kush that more closely resembled its historical Nubian inspiration. The statue he's standing on is based on the Egyptian Abu Simbel whereas the pyramids in the background are derived from the steep-sided ones in Nubia.

Conan's dress here differs from the brown loincloth he usually dons in fan art, but in the original Howard stories he generally adopts the local outfits and weaponry in the various countries he visits. In hindsight I probably should have given him more clothes to protect his fair skin from the burning southern sun.

Tarbosaurus bataar may be the tyrant king of Late Cretaceous Asia, but even he appreciates the finer things in life...like enjoying giant flowers with the sweet scent of rotting flesh.

The flowers are technically a fictional species from my imagination, but I based their design off the rafflesia flowers of Southeast Asia. They can grow up to a meter in diameter and smell so much like carrion that flies pollinate them. They're also called "corpse flowers".

I also like how the banana tree further into the background came out. Those are actually banana fruits growing below its fronds.

Great Horned Owls belong to the bubo genus. Their scientific name is Bubo Virginianus. This owl is nocturnal and sneaky (ninja bird anyone?) And their pray varies due to opportunity. They will eat whatever critters they can grab. Amazing beast!

I found this one going through my older art pieces and thought, "why did I not submit this one last month?" Either way I may not have liked it when I did it, but must have grown on me because I am puzzled as to why I did not submit it sooner! Enjoy!

I've felt rather lousy recently, so I cheered myself up by drawing this pin-up of my Pharaoh character. Actually, this isn't the drawing's original version; in the original version...well, we'll just say that even though she was really enjoying it, it didn't belong on a family-friendly website.

If I may get political for a moment, I've never understood the feminist hang-up over pin-ups. While neither men nor women should be treated as one-dimensional sex objects, I see nothing inherently wrong with appreciating the opposite sex's physical beauty (or the same sex, if you're gay). Our society needs a much more positive and less confused attitude towards sexuality.

Hatshepsut's on the left and Cleopatra VII's on the right.

This isn't the first time I have juxtaposed the two most famous Queens of the Nile together on one sheet of paper, but since my previous depictions of Cleopatra proved surprisingly popular on Tumblr, I wanted to revisit the scene with their full bodies shown. When designing these two reconstructions of Hatsy and Cleo, I wanted to emphasize their differences. Not only have I given Hatshepsut more purely African physical features and native Egyptian costume than the mixed-race and Macedonian-influenced Cleopatra, but Hatsy's supposed to have a classier demeanor whereas Cleo tends more towards sassy. They almost come across as each other's foil here.

I'll leave this as line art for the moment, but if you're interested in coloring this, Hatshepsut's meant to have dark skin whereas Cleopatra's more "high yellow" (think Oluchi Onweagba contrasted with Rihanna).

For this piece Oak Leaf, I used a mix of watercolor and oil mediums. I wanted to give it a pseudo ethereal look without loosing detail and boldness.

Oak trees are sacred on the Druid Tradition I practice and one of our mottos is As fast as a speeding Oak tree (I had to have it explained to me but it makes sense philosophically once it was).

If anyone is interested in modern druidism, this is the organization I belong to: Ár nDraíocht Féin: A Druid Fellowship (ADF)
