LOST MANUSCRIPTSI waited patiently for this publication and I'm finally starting to read!
^ Well ...
that was disappointing!
This volume was tedious, disjointed, poorly edited and lacking in cohesion. I herald Ann-Marie Richardson's essay "Reinventing Heaven" regarding the influence of Henry Kirke-White's
Clifton Grove on
Wuthering Heights, but its relevance in a publication about Charlotte Brontë was slight. Overall, I was glad to finish the book if only to lay it aside.
Next!!
I'm starting
Take Courage: Anne Brontë and the Art of Life, Samantha Ellis (Penguin, Random House UK, 2017).
I'm not a fan of Anne's didactic prose but I'd like to read this bio. It's been quite well received with positive reviews.
