I'm listening to my nephew's band playing live in my house -- sitar included.
It doesn't get any better than this

I love the sound of the sitar!! A sitar and a tabla together is hypnotically wonderful. I'm jealous. Enjoy!

They're so damned good (can I say that word?)
I'd post their music if it wouldn't unanonymous me. Their first album is out but they have years of other material yet to be fully produced. They practise here when they aren't in studio.

He personally plays sitar, guitar, bass, keyboard, all percussion including tabla  , trumpet, sax and vocals. He writes and produces too. He's working in Intellectual Property law so it's interesting to see how the business side of things works these days. Such a great band, with incredible young men.

Thanks, Magna!

I'm sure you're rightly proud of him. He sounds brilliantly talented.

Hi Magna!
Yes, I'm a super-proud, doting auntie-mama :)
He's quite the musical savant, whereas I know diddly-squat about music theory.

Do you know any of this theory? ^
I love the song but never had any idea of all the musicology behind it (nor do I understand!)

I was blown away by that documentary. How they orchestrated that album and what they had to do creatively to get the sounds. Even the piano crash at the end of A Day In The Life. For all the music I post, for me the greatest band of all time is the Beatles. I don't post them often because they're almost a part of my DNA I've listened to them so much over most of my life. Don't get me started!

Once, there was a way to get back homeward
Once, there was a way to get back home
Sleep, pretty darling, do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby

Golden slumbers fill your eyes
Smiles awake you when you rise
Sleep, pretty darling, do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby

Once, there was a way to get back homeward
Once, there was a way to get back home
Sleep, pretty darling, do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby

Sitar and tabla!

Starting at 3:24 through 3:46, I might as well be touching electricity...we talked about feeling music. Its one of my favorite parts of Beatles songs.
