When I was little I would play Chuck Yeager's Advanced Flight Trainer on the Commodore 64 while blasting Pink Floyd The Wall.

The Wall was HUGE when I was an adolescent. Hey You and Goodbye Blue Sky were both really meaningful for me. I remember being scolded in Art class because I was daydreaming the lyrics of Goodbye. I was supposed to be drawing a medieval calligraphy poster that said "It's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all". (Tennyson). I failed the assignment.

I often managed to get the same teachers that my older brother had. The absolute worst was art because my brother was so much better than me and he never encouraged me, not that I had any talent to develop. I was lucky enough to have the same art teacher during my elementary years and high school so I got her for a second round of her telling me how good my brother was and what I was lacking.

I'm sorry that happened. I had an older brother too, but I don't recall ever having his teachers.

I know it hurts
It's hard to breathe sometimes
These nights are long
You've lost the will to fight

I know you can't remember how to shine
Your heart's a bird without the wings to fly
You are not alone
I've been here the whole time singing you a song
I will carry you, I will carry you

The storm is coming but I don't mind
People are dying, I close my blinds
All that I know is I'm breathing now
All I can do is keep breathing

My roommate talking to his female cousin on speakerphone. I think I'll get him a headset for his phone for Christmas.
