It was Shaun Cassidy "Born Late", and I got it for Christmas 1977 while visiting my grandparents in California. I actually don't remember which Eric Burdon albums they were but I'll check when I'm at my mother's for Christmas this year. She has about 300 of my brother's and my albums from childhood, all in storage. There were many KISS vinyls in particular. I'll try to sort out my list for my own titles and see if anyone wants them.

Great memories about the stickers and the shrink wrap slicing!!

I never read comic books but I can picture the smell so I assume my brother had some. I never forget a smell and I can conjure / recreate them at will most of the time, so vividly that they are virtually real.

I believe I bought the Carpenters album within the confines of a “record club.” I also bought a Laurel and Hardy recording from them.

Merry Christmas darling
We're apart, that's true
But I can dream
And in my dreams I'm Christmassing with you!

Do any of you remember / cherish the scent of a brand new vinyl coming out of the sleeve? The smell when you rip the plastic wrap off and see that fresh black album? It's indelible for me, and I don't find albums smell same the same any more!

I do. In my case, I don't believe my nose is as sensitive as when I was younger. I'll blame that one on age.

I used to go from A-Z looking at albums in record stores for a couple of hours as a teen/college aged adult. Anyone else do that?

Yes, I did. I also loved gift wrapping albums for people. They were so easy to cover in wrapping paper!

I own DK-Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables on vinyl. For me, it's the perfect "punk" record. Good grab with "Kill The Poor", HighLlama.
