I lost my good reading glasses

I bought a magnifying glass to lay on my book, when also wearing my old / weaker glasses.

It's working OK but I can't read much at a time, because I stim too much to hold the magnifier.

Cthulhu: The Mythos And Kindred Horrors, by Robert E. Howard.

An anthology of Howard's short horror fiction, including those inspired by his friend and fellow pulp writer, H.P. Lovecraft. I used to own this book, and just got a new/used copy from Ebay in the mail.

I actually liked it.

It's a popular science book, so the author doesn't exactly throw Einstein's field equations in your face and expect you to understand them. It also gives a nice overview over the history of astronomy.

It was also fairly even-handed when it comes to alternative theories (dark matter vs. modified gravity), although the author has little sympathy for explanations based on purely theoretical string theory.

Anyway, I just bought a book about particle physics for my next reading... Time to go from the very, very, very big stuff in physics to the very, very, very small stuff in physics.
