Music trivia: The lead guitarist of The Replacements, Bob Stinson, apparently used to put on the same Sweet record every single morning and listen to it. Same record, same songs, every day.
I used to have a friend that did the same thing with The Smiths' debut album. He listened to it thousands of times.

I listened to Ballroom Blitz thousands of times as a little girl with my strobe light swirling its colours. I also listened to these at the same age. I guess I wasn't your normal five year old girl.
Thank God for older brothers with good taste in music.

I hate that probably due to licensing, the only version you can find of this is a hard to watch skewed diagonal visual, but The Replacements is one of my favorite bands as is the singer, Paul Westerberg.
They had their "shot" at national stardom when the Replacements appeared on Saturday Night Live in 1986 but were banned from reappearing on the show due to on and off stage antics. Some say they blew their chance at musical stardom in part due to not caring about their appearance on SNL.
In 1993 Paul Westerberg was allowed to appear again with a band and apparently before the song, dared the drummer to surprise him by doing something funny. About halfway through the song, you can hear the drummer yell out a random: "Burt Reynolds!" which causes Paul to laugh and miss a line or two. This must have displeased the producers of the show because at the very end, Charlton Heston does NOT thank Paul Westerberg. On other clips I've seen, you can see Paul cough into his hand just before extending it to Charlton Heston who shakes it but then can be seen wiping his hand against his pants.

The songs about phones reminds me of this. Anyone who remembers growing up with a landline phone will recognize the operator voice recording sample at the end:
