Apparently Bob Stinson, lead guitarist for the Replacements used to put on the same Sweet album realistically every morning of every day and listen to the whole thing.
I had a friend that did the same with the Smiths first album. Every day day after day hundreds upon hundreds of times over time.
Hey, Magna, have you ever played an album over and over, like that? In college I listened to Aja by Steely Dan at least once a night (usually about 3 times) for 9 months straight.
Hi HighLlama:
I see I let the auto-correct slip past me. I intended to say Bob Stinson listened to the Sweet album: ritualistically.
My answer to your question is...kind of. When i was 13-14 I had a vinyl copy of Van Halen's Women and Children First and listened to that daily until it cracked (dropped) or broke for some other reason. But that was partly because it was one of the only records I had at the time in addition to me liking it. Then at 15, long before ever meeting my friend who played the Smiths' first album, I played a cassette of Meat Is Murder probably every day for months; but again, partly because it was one of the few cassettes I had, in addition to liking the album. The other cassettes I had at the time were: Judas Priest-Defenders of the Faith and a compilation tape a friend made for me that had Dead Kennedys- In God We Trust, Peter and the Test Tube Babies - Pissed and Proud and a band called Specimen - Batastrophe.
After having access to a wide collection of music, I've never voluntarily selected a single album and listed to that day after day for a long period of time which is what I think you might mean?
