I find Black Metal to be fairly dull. I find death to be more interesting, but I don't really like extreme metal. There is this one symphonic black metal piece that I like though.

I agree with that sentiment for a lot of bands, but actually I like depressive black metal for that exact same reason. It just drones on in its own little lifeless world. Black metal in general has been growing on me though. I especially like Emperor, Deströyer 666, and Naglfar.
And in case nobody else has, I'd like to throw Abyssmal Sorrow out there.
