One song has quite a few misheard lyrics - yet the song was made by musical geniuses!

The Beatles - I Am the Walrus:

The '60s standard "Poetry in Motion": as a kid, I always heard it as "Oh, a Tree in Motion." Was a bit disappointed when I found out my mistake. Also, it's "Her lovely locomotion," not "locomotive"....

The theme tune to "Big Bang Theory," by Barenaked Ladies. For ages I heard "Math, science, history, unraveling the mysteries"... as "Math, science, history, and Marilyn the mystery". See, a reference to Marilyn Monroe would actually make sense in the context of the show, as she had a bit of a thing for Albert Einstein.

A word of caution: this song has repeatedly come high in the most annoying songs in history so listening to it is done at your own risk!

Black Lace - Agadoo

Push pineapples down the loo

Damn, that takes me back. I don't need to listen to it- turns out the song has been bubbling away inside my head since 1984, waiting for its chance to break free.

I’m pretty sure there is no line in “Come On Eileen” that is “I smell like anise,” but I hear it every time

Funny you mention that one. The song was actually written and originally performed by Bruce Springsteen with clearer lyrics, though Manfred Mann's cover version was more popular. In the Manfred Mann version, the line "revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night" sounds a lot like "wrecked-up like a douche, another roller in the night."

At 1:47 I thought for about four decades that they sang "How does it feel if you won the war?" Whereas in fact it's "I was defeated, you won the war".

Whoops --- I just discovered that I had this one wrong, my whole life:

Supertramp's "Bloody Well Right".

I thought they say "Write your problems down in a duotang".
It's "Write your problems down in detail".

I had to google. I thought it was weird to mention duotangs in a song.

Yes.

A few times.

The Seventies German band that paved the way to electronica, Kraftwerk, had a song called "Autobahn".

The lyrics, sung in their edgy emotionless robotic style, were "Fahrven, fahrven, fahrven, auf zee autobahn" meaning simply "driving, driving, driving, on the autobahn". But I heard it as "fun, fun, fun, on zee autobahn". I still like my version better.

The rap song "Whoomp, there it is" sounds like theyre saying "whoomp, bad assss, whoomp, bad asssss....". Slightly less brain-dead sounding than the original. Though still kinda dumb.
