Harry Potter is a refreshing, relaxing read after you've been reading adult books for ages.

I found Stephen King's Lisey's Game quite difficult because there was so much "intimate language" to learn. There were all these pet names and trite phrases which meant different things. Once you get up to speed on the language though, it's quite good.

I also found the Ring (Koji Suzuki?) to be hard, because I wasn't used to all those Japanese names. It ended up being a pretty good book though.

A History of Western Philosophy was hard for a fifteen-year-old, though probably worth it.
